ALOR SETAR, KEDAH, Malaysia July 27, 2025 – Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail officiated the opening of the Children’s Interview Centre (CIC) at the Kedah Contingent Police Headquarters, managed by the Sexual, Women, and Child Investigation Division (D11), on Saturday.
Speaking at the event, the minister highlighted the unique challenges faced by police when investigating cases involving children. “Many of these children are traumatized, scared, or confused. The CIC provides a vital space to gather corroborative evidence without adding to their emotional or psychological distress,” he said.

The CIC, designed to support investigations not only for sexual crimes but also for cases involving narcotics, homicide, and other offenses, aims to create a safe and supportive environment for young witnesses and victims. “We must always remember that these children are souls who need protection. Justice must never come at the expense of humanity,” Saifuddin emphasized.
Pledging unwavering support, the Home Minister affirmed the Ministry of Home Affairs’ commitment to protecting society’s most vulnerable. “InsyaAllah, my team and I at KDN will continue to fully support efforts to safeguard these children,” he added.
The establishment of the CIC marks a significant step in ensuring child-sensitive investigative processes, balancing the pursuit of justice with compassion.
