PUTRAJAYA, MALAYSIA Oct 16, 2025 – Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail emphasized the crucial role of integrity as the primary bulwark in safeguarding the nation’s security and sovereignty, particularly among agencies under the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) such as the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM), Immigration Department, National Registration Department (JPN), and Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS).
In his speech at the KDN National Integrity Day Celebration 2025 yesterday, he described KDN as the “front line” in defending national security. “Imagine if key agencies like PDRM, APMM, Immigration, JPN, and AKPS are vulnerable to breaches in integrity principles; it would easily lead to imbalances in the national security system and ultimately open the door to irreparable damage,” he said, urging every officer to steadfastly uphold integrity values to keep the system robust and respected.
Datuk Seri Saifuddin also quoted the views of Dato’ Ustaz Kazim Elias, who was present at the event, stressing that in Islam, trust and honesty are absolute obligations. “When we work with the intention for the sake of Allah, every action of ours, no matter how small, becomes a form of worship,” the ustaz shared, adding a spiritual dimension to the integrity discussion.
He concluded his speech with hopes that integrity would continue to “flourish in the souls of every KDN member, serving as a shield that protects us from negligence, and as a light that guides our steps in building a more secure, just, and dignified Malaysia.” The event was held to commemorate National Integrity Day, in line with the government’s commitment to fostering a culture of transparency and integrity at all levels.
