PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia, July 31, 2025 – Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has commended Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the unveiling of the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK13), describing it as a comprehensive strategy that prioritizes public safety, social justice, and the welfare of security forces amid evolving global challenges.

In a statement released today, Saifuddin praised RMK13’s theme, “Redesigning Development,” as a reflection of the MADANI government’s commitment to balanced growth rooted in human values, ethical governance, and inclusive prosperity. “It embodies a government that goes beyond conventional economic planning to emphasize humanity, social equity, integrity, and shared success,” he said.
The plan aligns with Malaysia’s MADANI aspirations, focusing not just on physical infrastructure but on human well-being, moral strength, and national unity, ensuring no one is left behind in the nation’s progress.
As head of the Home Ministry, Saifuddin highlighted the RM51 billion allocation for the security and defense sector, calling it a clear signal of the government’s recognition of security as a pillar of national stability and advancement. In an increasingly volatile world marked by cross-border threats, smuggling, cybercrime, human trafficking, and extremism, he stressed the need to bolster operational, logistical, and technological capabilities.
Key initiatives include modernizing the national immigration system through the National Integrated Immigration System and integrating advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI). These measures aim to enhance efficiency, responsiveness, and border control, particularly in addressing regional tensions such as those in the South China Sea.
Saifuddin also expressed gratitude for the government’s focus on the welfare of frontline security personnel, including members of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM). He noted the completion of 1,368 new PDRM quarters and 3,088 ATM quarters, with an additional 8,501 units under construction and 69,141 existing units renovated.
“We cannot expect our security forces to serve effectively and with dedication if their basic needs—comfortable housing, conducive environments, and social security—are neglected,” Saifuddin said. He added that RMK13’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure, facilities, and support for security personnel are highly commendable.
The minister emphasized that a nation’s strength today is measured not only by weaponry or personnel numbers but by a holistic support ecosystem encompassing training, logistics, technology, and welfare.
The Home Ministry pledged full support for RMK13’s implementation, committing to effectively execute security-related initiatives, strengthen domestic safety, uphold the rule of law, and ensure peaceful living for all Malaysians regardless of background.
Saifuddin concluded by expressing hope that RMK13 would yield lasting results in terms of tranquility, harmony, and national unity, beyond mere economic metrics. “With Allah’s blessings, may its execution be successful,” he said.
