Marking his first time speaking at such an event, Saifuddin expressed admiration for WMGS’s commitment to community welfare, a passion he shares with the group’s founder, Dato’ Awie. “This is perhaps the first time in my political career that I’ve spoken at such a distinctive event, surrounded by a group united by their love for motorcycles and an extraordinary spirit of brotherhood,” he said.

Saifuddin highlighted his long-standing friendship with Dato’ Awie, noting their shared interest in social good. “Dato’ Awie has often shared stories about the club’s activities, particularly their welfare initiatives, which I believe deserve praise and support,” he added. Reflecting on his own pre-political efforts, Saifuddin recalled founding a Food Bank initiative, collecting surplus food from supermarkets and hotel kitchens for door-to-door distribution.

The minister also revealed discussions with Dato’ Awie about a meaningful project aimed at supporting those “behind the iron curtain,” an idea still in development. “Dato’ Awie has long expressed his desire to give back to society through his art, and we are refining this unique initiative together,” Saifuddin said.

On a personal note, Saifuddin shared his fondness for two of Dato’ Awie’s songs, particularly “Taman Rashidah Utama,” citing its poignant lyric, “a grave of love in Taman Rashidah Utama,” as a testament to its emotional depth.

Congratulating WMGS on a decade of unity and activity, Saifuddin pledged continued support for the club’s welfare and community programs. “If opportunities arise, we will collaborate to further these meaningful initiatives,” he said.

The event underscored the power of shared passions in fostering community impact, blending the roar of motorcycles with a commitment to social good.
