Hannah Yeoh Officiates Gold Award Ceremony for Premier Youth Partner Awards (ARPRM) 2025

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA Nov 8, 2025 – Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh today concluded the Gold Award Conferment Ceremony for the Premier Youth Partner Awards (ARPRM) 2025, held at Dewan Bankuet CASA 4, National Sports Complex in Bukit Jalil. The event celebrated the highest achievements of young participants in a program designed to foster leadership and community spirit among Malaysian youth.

The ARPRM program, adapted from The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, stands as a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS). It targets youths aged 14 to 24, equipping them with essential skills in leadership, personal integrity, and volunteerism to prepare them for active societal roles.

This year’s ceremony recognized 76 exceptional recipients at the Gold level, bringing the cumulative total of Gold awardees to over 1,886 since the program’s inception in 2000. “The Gold level is not just an acknowledgment of individual excellence but a gateway to broader leadership development and international youth engagement,” Yeoh emphasized in her speech, highlighting the program’s role in empowering the next generation.

The annual conferment aims to achieve several key objectives:

– Celebrate the outstanding commitment and discipline demonstrated by Gold recipients;
– Appreciate contributions from state Youth and Sports Departments (JBS States), the Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM), government agencies, NGOs, organizations, and schools;
– Inspire fellow youths, including Bronze and Silver recipients, to pursue higher goals;
– Promote greater participation in leadership and volunteerism; and
– Strengthen synergies among all stakeholders in national youth development.

KBS expressed hope that awardees and the ARPRM Operations Body remain dedicated to advancing the “10 Rakan Muda Lifestyles” initiative, aligning it with ARPRM’s growth. This ongoing effort is expected to ensure comprehensive program implementation across all levels, while encouraging diverse youth participation to harness their potential and foster national unity.

The ceremony was also attended by Deputy Secretary General (Management) Datuk Haji Abdullah Hasan and Director General of the National Youth and Sports Department (JBSN) Puan Azura binti Abidin, alongside ministry leaders and representatives from ARPRM implementing agencies.
