Greene Opposes Iran Bombing, Calls for Focus on Domestic Issues

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) expressed strong opposition to U.S. military action against Iran, urging leaders to prioritize domestic challenges like crime, illegal immigration, and the opioid crisis over foreign conflicts.

In a posting on X  reflecting her frustration with decades of U.S. involvement in overseas wars, Greene criticized “neocon warmongers” for advocating military action in distant nations while ignoring threats closer to home, such as drug cartels and illegal border crossings.

“I don’t know anyone in America killed by Iran, but I know many victims of crimes by illegal aliens or murdered by cartel and Chinese fentanyl,” Greene said, emphasizing the toll of domestic issues. She pointed out that the U.S. has not targeted cartel operations with the same vigor as foreign adversaries, despite their impact on American lives.

Greene, 51, recounted her lifelong exposure to U.S. foreign wars, from Desert Storm to Vietnam, which she described as costly and benefiting foreign interests rather than Americans. With the national debt at $37 trillion, she argued that the trillions spent on conflicts abroad have yielded no tangible benefits for U.S. citizens. “American troops have been killed and torn apart for regime change and military-industrial profits. I’m sick of it,” she stated.

While supporting Israel’s right to self-defense, Greene firmly opposed U.S. involvement or funding for its conflicts, as well as foreign aid broadly. Instead, she called for policies to boost American prosperity, including favorable trade deals, low inflation, and a booming construction and manufacturing sector. “I want Americans to be rich and have security in their future,” she said, expressing outrage that her children’s generation—ages 22, 25, and 27—faces unaffordable housing and dim prospects.

Greene also addressed her support for President Trump, clarifying that she backs his administration’s achievements but disagrees with bombing Iran or engaging in a conflict she claims Israel initiated. “Critical thinking is the most American thing ever,” she said, rejecting accusations of disloyalty. She accused Democrats of hypocrisy, noting their support for Biden’s Ukraine funding and Afghanistan withdrawal while criticizing Trump’s Iran policy.

The congresswoman voiced concerns about potential Iranian retaliatory attacks on U.S. soil, warning that Americans now fear being pulled into another war. “Enough is enough,” Greene concluded, praying for peace and an end to demands for U.S. military involvement abroad.
