Government Serious in Tackling Online “Swinger” Crimes, Says Home Minister

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, August 19. 2025 – Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution emphasized that the government takes online “swinger” crimes involving civil servants and university students seriously, affirming the existence of current legal provisions to combat online sexual crimes.

Speaking during the oral question-and-answer session in Parliament today, he stated that such crimes not only violate the law but also pose significant risks to the nation’s moral, social, and security fabric.

“The Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN), through the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), in collaboration with other enforcement agencies, will continue to intensify intelligence efforts, law enforcement, and prevention programs to ensure that online sexual crimes, including ‘swinger’ activities, are comprehensively and effectively eradicated,” he said.

He added that the government is committed to curbing these crimes to safeguard the integrity and safety of society.
