First Anniversary Celebration of AKPS: Tribute to Staff Strengthening Border Security

PUTRAJAYA, MALAYSIA Oct 17, 2025– The First Anniversary Celebration of the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) took place vibrantly today at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Setia Perkasa 3, Setia Perkasa Complex, here, as a tribute to the contributions of its staff in bolstering the nation’s border security controls.

The event, held on Friday, was officiated by Datuk Haji Makhzan bin Mahyuddin, Deputy Secretary-General (Policy and Control) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN). He was joined by Tuan Fakhrul Razi bin Ab Wahab, Deputy Secretary-General (Management) of KDN, as well as distinguished guest CP Datuk Seri Hazani bin Ghazali, former Director-General of AKPS.

According to event sources, the organization of this ceremony aims to express deep appreciation to AKPS personnel for their roles in enhancing professionalism, integrity, and esprit de corps among officers. “This is an opportunity to celebrate a full year of achievements while fostering a collective spirit for national security,” said an anonymous participant.

The celebration also underscores KDN’s ongoing commitment through AKPS to ensure the nation’s sovereignty and security remain safeguarded, in line with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI, which emphasizes inclusive and resilient development. Established last year, the agency continues to play a crucial role in managing Malaysia’s land and sea borders, including efforts to combat smuggling and security threats.
