PETALING JAYA, MALAYSIA Oct 14, 2025 – The fatal stabbing incident that claimed the life of a 16-year-old female student at a secondary school in Bandar Utama this morning has shocked the entire nation and deeply saddened many.

Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo, who is also the Member of Parliament for Damansara, expressed his profound shock and sorrow over this tragic event. In a media statement released today, he emphasized that schools should be safe places for learning, personal development, and building friendships.
“I am deeply shocked and saddened by the fatal stabbing incident involving a 16-year-old student that occurred at a secondary school in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, this morning,” said Gobind Singh Deo in his statement.
He also called for space to be given to the police to conduct a thorough investigation. In the meantime, his office in Damansara is prepared to provide assistance to the victim’s family members. “My team has been directed to contact and offer support to them during this difficult time,” he added.
Gobind Singh Deo also extended condolences on behalf of the Ministry of Digital and his team in Damansara to the family of the teenage girl who lost her life in this heartbreaking incident. “There is no place for violence in schools,” he stressed, urging collective awareness on student safety.
The police are handling the case, and further information is expected to be released soon. The incident has also sparked widespread discussions on safety measures in educational institutions.
