KOTA BELUD: Menteri Perindustrian, Keusahawanan dan Pengangkutan (MINDET) Sabah, Datuk Ewon Benedick menyeru Alumni Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Narinang supaya memainkan peranan lebih aktif dalam sektor perindustrian dan keusahawanan di Sabah, khususnya di kawasan Kadamaian.

The Deputy Chief Minister III hopes that the school’s alumni will take advantage of the opportunities available and become strategic partners in the government’s efforts to develop the people’s economy, especially at the rural community level.
“I hope that SMK Narinang alumni will become part of Sabah’s industrial and entrepreneurial sectors, including in Kadamaian itself,” he said.
He said this when officiating the general meeting of the SMK Narinang Alumni Association at the school hall, here, today.
Ewon, who is also the Kadamaian State Assemblyman (ADUN), said that the Kadamaian Development Master Plan 2020-2035 that he introduced was the foundation for the area’s holistic development, in addition to the implementation of a new approach through the “Sabah First” Policy at MINDET.


“At MINDET, my vision is to help more Sabahans earn income either as business owners or as workers in the entrepreneurial and industrial sectors.
“I believe SMK Narinang alumni have great potential to be part of this ecosystem,” he said.
At the event, he also presented a donation of RM3,000 to the SMK Narinang Alumni Association to assist with the association’s administrative needs.
After that, Ewon also concluded the Under-12 Football Championship organised by Rangalau Adventist Primary School (SRA), Kadamaian.
“I am proud that missionary schools also continue to make grassroots initiatives like this a success which also attracts participation from outside Kadamaian.
“As continued support, I present a contribution of RM5,000 to SRA Rangalau to complete the necessary football sports needs.
“I will continue to provide annual activity grants to all schools in the Kadamaian DUN area as I have introduced so far,” he said.

At the event, Ewon also presented additional prizes to six teams that participated in the tournament.
