KADAMAIAN, Malaysia June 27, 2025– A symbolic ceremony saw the Malaysia Cooperative Societies Commission (SKM) distribute RM50,000 worth of corporate social responsibility (CSR) contributions to 10 Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) and cooperatives in Kadamaian yesterday.
The donation, comprising chairs and tables, was handed over to meet the needs of local communities, particularly for use in open halls and cooperative spaces for various community activities, as previously raised with Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development, Datuk Ewon Benedick.
“This initiative reflects SKM’s commitment to supporting rural community development through cooperative approaches and strategic collaboration with local leaders,” Ewon said during the event.
Present at the ceremony were SKM Sabah Director Haji Efendee OP Andu, Malaysia Cooperative Institute (IKMa) Sabah Zone Director Mohd Razalie Raffae, and National Cooperative Movement of Malaysia (ANGKASA) Sabah Chairman Dr. Zhamriee Gulamrasul.
Recipient organizations included JKKK Kampung Podos, Kampung Bokilong, Kampung Pangi, Kampung Taginambur Jaya, Kampung Taginambur Batu, Kampung Purak Ogis, Kampung Tuguson, Kampung Bundu Paka, Kampung Lahanas, and Koperasi Pelancongan Sogindai Kiau Berhad.
The minister expressed hope that the contributions would enhance community facilities and foster greater social engagement in Kadamaian’s rural areas.
