Energy Asia 2025: Over 5,000 Global Leaders Convene for Net-Zero Future

MALAYSIA. Kuala Lumpur, June 16, 2025 – The second edition of Energy Asia 2025, themed “Powering Asia’s Energy Transition,” was officially launched today by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).

The three-day summit, running from June 16 to 18, brought together over 5,000 participants, including 180 world-class speakers and representatives from more than 50 countries. It is expected to attract over 11,000 visitors, fostering high-impact discussions and cross-sector collaborations to accelerate a just and orderly energy transition.

Key attendees included Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah, Petronas President and Group CEO YM Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik Tengku Kamadjaja Aziz, OPEC Secretary-General Haitham Al Ghais, and Petronas Advisor Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican.

Energy Asia serves as a premier platform for thought leadership and business advocacy, positioning Asia as a global leader in the energy transition. The summit addresses diverse challenges, development stages, and policy needs, driving actionable strategies through inclusive and practical solutions.

Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Fadillah Yusof emphasized the summit’s critical role in shaping a sustainable, equitable, and balanced energy future, not only for Asia but for the world. “In this pivotal decade toward net-zero goals, Energy Asia is a catalyst for strategic action and regional progress in achieving carbon neutrality,” he said.

The event underscores Malaysia’s and the region’s commitment to evaluating progress and strengthening efforts to meet net-zero carbon emission targets.
