KLANG, MALAYSIA February 27, 2026 – Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Deputy IGP) Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay conducted an official review visit to the enforcement phase of the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency’s (MMEA/APMM) Special Sea Fence Operation (Operasi Khas Pagar Laut) alongside Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
The visit took place yesterday aboard the MMEA vessel Kapal Maritim Tun Fatimah at Jeti Pusat Hidrografi Nasional, Port Klang.
Upon arrival, Tan Sri Ayob Khan was welcomed by MMEA Director-General Laksamana (M) Datuk Hj. Mohd Rosli Abdullah, who then accompanied the delegation on a comprehensive operational tour. The inspection focused on MMEA’s efforts to strengthen maritime security, including the prevention of cross-border crimes, smuggling activities, and illegal incursions into Malaysian waters.
The delegation received a detailed briefing from Laksamana (M) Datuk Hj. Mohd Rosli on the reactivation of Operasi Khas Pagar Laut, which runs from today (February 27) until April 10, 2026. The briefing covered the deployment and coordination of maritime assets, the integration of advanced surveillance technology, and the effectiveness of joint inter-agency operations.
Following the briefing, Tan Sri Ayob Khan and Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution joined the crew and guests for Maghrib prayers performed in congregation before breaking fast together onboard the vessel.
The Deputy IGP’s participation underscores the Royal Malaysia Police’s (PDRM) ongoing commitment to enhancing strategic synergy with MMEA, particularly through the Marine Police in the areas of intelligence sharing, coordinated patrols, and joint enforcement actions.
Also present were Secretary-General of the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) Datuk Dr. Awang Alik Jeman, Deputy Secretary-General (Security) Dato’ Hj. Abdul Halim Hj. Abdul Rahman, Deputy Secretary-General (Management) Encik Fakhrul Razi Ab Wahab, Port Klang Entry Point Commander from the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency DCP Datuk Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal, and heads of various departments and agencies under KDN.
The operation is part of sustained efforts to safeguard Malaysia’s maritime boundaries, especially during the current fasting month.
