Deputy IGP Tests FN Herstal Firearms in Ulu Kinta

IPOH, Malaysua, July 12, 2025 – Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Deputy IGP), DIG Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, attended a firearms evaluation session today at the Northern Brigade Shooting Range, General Operations Force (PGA), Ulu Kinta. The session featured various models of firearms produced by FN Herstal.

Organized by the Weaponry Branch of the Logistics and Technology Department (JLog), Bukit Aman, the event began with a briefing by representatives from Arena Mission Sdn. Bhd., a tactical equipment supplier, followed by a demonstration and live firing session.

The firearms tested included the Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR) 7.62mm, FN Minimi 7.62 MK3 Tactical Machine Gun, FN Evolys 7.62 Ultralight Machine Gun, and several tactical pistols such as the FN Hiper MRD, CZ P10C, CZ P10F, CZ P10M Micro, and CZ Shadow 2 Compact.

The evaluation aimed to assess the efficiency, ergonomics, and suitability of the firearms for operational needs, enhancing the Royal Malaysia Police’s weaponry assets and equipment.

Also present were Senior Assistant Commissioner Zaidy Che Hassan, Chief Assistant Director of Weaponry, JLog Bukit Aman, and Assistant Commissioner Hammizamri Abdullah, Assistant Director of Weaponry (Operations/Technical/Ordnance Assets), JLog Bukit Aman.
