ALOR SETAR, Malaydia, July 26, 2025 – Deputy Inspector-General of Police (Deputy IGP) Tan Sri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay accompanied Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail at the official opening of the Children’s Interview Centre (CIC) at the Kedah Contingent Police Headquarters in Taman Derga Jaya here yesterday.

Arriving around 10:00 AM alongside Ministry of Home Affairs Secretary-General Datuk Awang Alik Jeman, the Home Minister was welcomed by Acting Kedah Police Chief DCP Adzli Abu Shah. The 1,400-square-foot facility serves as a dedicated Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) centre for the Sexual, Women, and Child Investigation Division (D11) under the Criminal Investigation Department. The CIC provides a comfortable, trauma-sensitive environment for interviewing child witnesses or victims of crimes.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the Deputy IGP and Home Minister toured the premises and attended a brief presentation on the centre’s operations by Senior Assistant Commissioner Siti Kamsiah Hassan, Deputy Director of the D11 Division at Bukit Aman.
Also present were Deputy Secretary-General (Security) of the Ministry of Home Affairs Dato’ Hj. Abdul Halim Hj. Abdul Rahman, Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation (Investigation/Legal) at Bukit Aman DCP Datuk Mohamad Zainal Hj. Abdullah, and Deputy Director (Technical/Operations) of the Logistics and Technology Department at Bukit Aman DCP Redzuan Abdul Hamid.
The new CIC underscores PDRM’s commitment to enhancing child-friendly investigative processes and supporting young victims and witnesses in a safe, professional setting.
