KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA January 23, 2026 – Syaheera Ghafar, National Assistant Publicity Secretary of the Democratic Action Party Socialist Youth (DAPSY), has expressed strong support for the newly announced National Education Plan (Rancangan Pendidikan Negara, RPN) 2026-2035, describing it as evidence of the MADANI government’s serious commitment to youth and long-term national development.
In a statement, Syaheera cited a UNESCO study that found countries with high investment in education enjoy more stable economic growth, narrower poverty gaps, and more tolerant, inclusive societies that foster national harmony.
“As a young Malaysian, I am delighted to see the announcement of the RPN 2026-2035, which demonstrates the MADANI government’s determination to steer the country forward through substantial investment and numerous incentives for young people still pursuing their studies, whether in schools or universities,” she said.
Syaheera particularly welcomed the government’s decision to make Bahasa Melayu and History compulsory subjects in all schools, calling it a positive step to strengthen national identity and unity.
“This will reinforce the foundations of nationhood and the sense of identity for all Malaysians, and it is undoubtedly beneficial for the country,” she added.
She expressed hope that the plan’s various incentives, initiatives, and systemic improvements would produce more Malaysians who prioritise knowledge and education as keys to future success and opportunities to give back to the nation.
Syaheera also praised the plan’s emphasis on inclusive and equitable education for all segments of society, including persons with disabilities (OKU).
“Inclusive and fair education for every layer of society is a commendable effort to equip Malaysian youth to face an increasingly challenging world. It is crucial that no Malaysian child feels left behind in achieving success in education and future career opportunities,” she stated.
She urged the public, especially parents and educators, to view the education blueprint positively and called for broad societal support to ensure its successful implementation.
“May this education planning be received with a positive outlook and strong backing from all quarters to create better educational opportunities for the next generation of Malaysians,” Syaheera concluded.
The RPN 2026-2035 is the latest long-term roadmap aimed at transforming Malaysia’s education system to meet future challenges and promote national unity.
