KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA February 1, 2026 – The Central Executive Committee (CEC) of DAP has never granted any mandate or authority to any individual to represent the party in conducting any form of political discussions, cooperation negotiations, or relations with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) or any of its leaders.
This statement was issued by DAP National Organising Secretary Khoo Poay Tiong in response to rumours alleging that Bersatu members intend to join DAP.
He stressed that any actions by individuals claiming to represent DAP in engaging with Bersatu are purely personal in nature and do not in any way reflect the official stance, decisions, or policies of the party.
“DAP has always firmly upheld the principles of its struggle, grounded in integrity and dignity, in its efforts to win support from the Malay community,” Khoo said.
He added that DAP’s efforts to gain the support of the Malay community have never—and will never—depend on strategies of poaching or enticing members of other parties to switch allegiance.
“Instead, DAP is committed to earning the trust and recognition of the people from all ethnic groups, including the Malay community, through proven performance, effective service to the public, and consistent political principles rooted in integrity.”
Khoo further emphasised that DAP will continue to focus fully on the Unity Government’s administration agenda. The party will demonstrate its capability by driving economic growth, enhancing the well-being of the people, and strengthening harmony in Malaysia’s plural society.
