PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia, Sept 22, 2025 – The Attorney General’s Chambers has issued a stern warning regarding statements that could potentially disrupt ongoing court proceedings, following remarks made by Dato’ Seri Panglima Haji Mohd Shafie bin Apdal during the “Jelajah Inspirasi DSSA P187 Kinabatangan” session on 20 September 2025.
The statement, deemed capable of inciting inaccurate perceptions among the public and stakeholders, as well as jeopardizing the integrity of current court proceedings, prompted the Chambers to take a firm stance. The Attorney General’s office emphasized its commitment to ensuring that legal processes remain untainted and that any ongoing trials or investigations are not compromised.
In response, the Chambers clarified that it will closely monitor the situation and is prepared to take decisive action, including initiating contempt proceedings or further investigations if necessary. This move aims to safeguard the judicial process from any undue influence or interference.
The Attorney General’s Chambers urged all parties to exercise caution and avoid actions or statements that could undermine ongoing legal proceedings, reinforcing its dedication to upholding justice and fairness in the Malaysian legal system.
