The service began operations last month as part of the federal government’s Madani initiative, led by Transport Minister Loke Siew Fook, to alleviate the cost-of-living burden through accessible daily transportation.

Key features of the Bas.My Kota Setar service include:

RM50 Unlimited Monthly Pass : Allows workers unlimited bus rides within the state.
Free Concession Cards : Available for senior citizens (aged 60 and above), OKU, and school students.

“This is an example of a people-centric public service that not only supports residents but also fosters inclusive and sustainable local economic growth,” Saifuddin said.

He emphasized the importance of state government collaboration, suggesting initiatives like reduced parking fees to further ease living costs. “If state governments introduce more people-friendly parking systems, we will see stronger federal-state cooperation in addressing cost-of-living issues comprehensively,” he added.

Saifuddin expressed confidence that the service will enhance mobility for residents while boosting the local economy. “Let’s ride Bas.My Kota Setar, Kedah folks!” he urged.
