KOTA KINABALU, SABAH, MALAYSIA November 9, 2024 – Prime Minister and President of the People’s Justice Party (KEADILAN), Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, today announced the list of 10 Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidates from KEADILAN to contest in the upcoming Sabah State Election (PRN).
The announcement was made through the party’s official channels, with Anwar emphasizing that these candidates were selected based on diverse backgrounds and experiences, but united by their spirit to address the people’s challenges and restore value-based politics to the people of Sabah.
“Insya-Allah, it will enliven the people’s struggle and strengthen leadership that prioritizes the hopes and interests of the natives,” Anwar wrote in his statement.
The announced list of candidates is as follows:
– N18 Inanam : Peto Galim
– N44 Tulid : Datin Rufinah Pengeran
– N23 Petagas : Awang Husaini Sahari
– N61 Segama : Romansa Lamin
– N50 Gum-Gum : Abdul Said Pimping
– N20 Api-Api : Thonny Chee
– N72 Merotai : Datuk Haji Ruji Ubi
– N42 Melalap: Datuk Jamawi Jaafar
– N35 Sindumin: Datuk Yamani Hafez Tun Musa
– N54 Karamunting : George Hiew
Anwar also took the opportunity to wish success to all candidates, reaffirming PH’s commitment to ensure this aspiration is translated into concrete actions to uphold the rights and interests of the people of Sabah.
“Congratulations and good luck to all candidates. We will ensure this aspiration is realized towards upholding the rights and interests of the people of Sabah!” he added.
This announcement comes amid intensive preparations by opposition and state government parties for the Sabah PRN, expected to be a fierce battleground to seize influence in this resource-rich state. KEADILAN, as part of the PH coalition, is hoped to strengthen support in urban and rural areas through these experienced candidates.
