Air Force Chief to Pilot Su-30MKM, Leading Air Display for National Day 2025

SUBANG, SELANGOR, Malaysia – AUGUST 27 2025 – The National Day 2025 celebration at Dataran Putrajaya is set to make history as the Chief of the Air Force, General Dato’ Sri Haji Muhamad Norazlan bin Aris RMAF, takes to the skies to personally pilot the Su-30MKM fighter jet, leading the air display segment.

This morning, the Air Force Chief, alongside pilots and crew from the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF), commenced intensive training at Subang Air Base to ensure the success of the air display on 31 August. The performance will feature 30 air assets, including fighter jets, transport aircraft, and helicopters from various agencies such as the Malaysian Army (TDM), Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM), and Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM).

According to an RMAF statement, the Air Force Chief’s participation in the flight underscores his leadership spirit, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with his personnel, symbolizing the strength and unity of the nation’s security forces.

Carrying the theme “Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni” (People-Centric Malaysia), this year’s National Day celebration will showcase the roar of jet engines, the waving of the Jalur Gemilang, and the courage of security personnel soaring in the skies. “Boundless sacrifice and readiness to risk our lives are our pledge to safeguard the nation’s peace and independence,” the RMAF stated.
