KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, 24 July 2025 – Indian Members of Parliament have voiced profound disappointment with the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) for its decision not to prosecute Firdaus Wong and Zamri Vinoth, citing an alleged lack of sufficient evidence.
In a strongly worded statement, the MPs rejected the AGC’s reasoning, pointing to numerous police reports and clear evidence in the form of videos, public statements, and widely circulated social media posts. They argued that this material not only caused public unrest but also contained elements of insult and incitement targeting racial and religious sensitivities.

The decision has been described as deeply disappointing, raising concerns about perceived unequal treatment in cases involving certain individuals. The MPs stated that this undermines the principles of justice and equality upheld in Malaysia.
“We firmly assert that the law must not be applied selectively. Any form of insult, hatred, or incitement against any race or religion must be addressed firmly and fairly, regardless of the perpetrator,” the statement read.
The MPs urged the AGC to reassess its decision objectively, based on the reported and available evidence, to restore public confidence in the nation’s justice system.
They vowed to continue advocating alongside Malaysians, particularly the Indian community, to demand justice, respect, and equal protection under the law.
