KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, July 24, 2025 — CP Dato’ Sri Mohd Shuhaily bin Mohd Zain, Director-General of the Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS), attended the Fifth Meeting of the 15th Parliamentary Special Select Committee on Security in 2025 to address the pressing issue of “Phantom Travels” at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

The “Phantom Travels” issue, reported by a media portal since Dato’ Sri Mohd Shuhaily assumed his role, highlights concerns over misconduct and integrity lapses among enforcement officers.
During the briefing, he emphasized that his team is taking the matter seriously and stressed the need for an immediate, holistic, and integrated cross-agency action plan to curb such malpractices.
AKPS is committed to strengthening security controls and ensuring the integrity of enforcement officers at entry points. The agency aims to deliver efficient and trustworthy services, aligning with the Prime Minister’s and government’s vision for AKPS as a Single Border Agency.
