PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia, July 22, 2025 — Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail shared today that a comprehensive post-mortem will be conducted to identify the root causes of the recent congestion at Malaysia’s major entry points over the weekend.

The statement followed a briefing by the Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM), the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe) team, the Border Control Agency (AKPS), and related service providers before the morning session of the Dewan Rakyat.
The minister emphasized a clear focus on developing sustainable short- and long-term solutions, alongside ensuring robust coordination among all agencies and vendors involved.
“We are not here to merely patch up the issue but to resolve it at its core to prevent recurrence,” Saifuddin said.
He stressed that any system in use must operate efficiently, swiftly, and without causing inconvenience to the public. “The MADANI reform demands services that are integrity-driven and responsive,” he added, vowing that the Home Ministry (KDN) will remain proactive and accountable in addressing the issue.
