In a statement, MBM President Mohd Izzat Afifi Hj Abdul Hamid criticized Adams for promoting views that dismiss human rights advocacy, equate solidarity with extremism, and support acts widely condemned as war crimes and genocide.

MBM highlighted that Adams’ anti-Palestinian statements and provocative stance conflict with Malaysia’s commitment to international justice, human dignity, and multilateralism.

The council warned that his appointment could undermine the longstanding bilateral relationship between Malaysia and the United States, eroding mutual trust and public goodwill essential for diplomatic cooperation.

Invoking Malaysia’s sovereign rights under Article 4 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, MBM called for the rejection of Adams’ nomination to protect the nation’s moral and diplomatic integrity. The council also urged youth organizations, student bodies, and civil society to remain vigilant in defending peace, justice, and sovereignty.

“Young Malaysians will continue to champion dignity and justice, both at home and in global engagements,” said Mohd Izzat Afifi.
