PUTRAJAYA October 3, 2026 — Daily enforcement by the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) and the Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM) against undocumented migrants — known locally as PATI — is continuing without pause in 2026, Home Affairs Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said, as he released fresh operational figures on his X account.
In a post on Saturday, Saifuddin said he wanted to share facts and numbers so the public could see the scale of action being taken. The message was accompanied by an official graphic from the Office of the Minister of Home Affairs titled “Membanteras PATI, Memelihara Kedaulatan: Operasi Imigresen 2026”.
“Alhamdulillah, usaha KDN dan Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia (JIM) menangani isu PATI terus digerakkan setiap hari,” he wrote, adding that the day’s update set out key facts for Malaysians to examine.
According to the ministry graphic, immigration authorities had conducted 10,374 operations as of September 2026. Those operations resulted in 37,313 arrests of undocumented migrants and the inspection of 137,603 individuals through continuous aggressive enforcement.
Action against local employers has also intensified. The graphic showed that arrests of Malaysians accused of hiring or harbouring undocumented migrants rose from 346 in 2023 to 1,859 in 2024 and 2,202 in 2025, with 1,809 recorded by September 2026.
The ministry framed the problem as a threat to economic stability and security, saying leakages in previous systems and exploitation by syndicates had negatively affected the country’s social and economic sectors.
KDN and JIM leadership, it said, remained committed to non-stop daily action aimed at breaking the chain of immigration abuse nationwide.
Foreigners were reminded that they must enter Malaysia through legal channels. The public was also warned not to harbour or protect undocumented migrants, which the ministry linked to collective safety.
Saifuddin presented the daily operations as evidence of firmness in tackling the PATI crisis, ending the update under the Malaysia MADANI banner with his official designation as Home Affairs Minister.
The figures cover operations through September 2026 and form part of what Saifuddin described as an ongoing, day-to-day drive by KDN and JIM to dismantle networks linked to undocumented migration and to uphold the country’s immigration laws.
