KAJANG, SELANGOR, Malaysia, July 11, 2025 – A total of 57,127 inmates have been granted release under the Licensed Prisoner Release (PBSL) Ihsan MADANI program, dubbed “Kepulangan Yang Dinanti” (The Awaited Return), the Malaysian Prisons Department announced today.
The PBSL Ihsan MADANI initiative provides eligible inmates the opportunity to reunite with their families and reintegrate into society, supporting their rehabilitation and social integration.

It forms part of the government’s Community-Based Rehabilitation (PDK) efforts, aimed at reducing recidivism rates and alleviating prison overcrowding.
The Prisons Department emphasized that the program is designed to foster positive outcomes for both inmates and the community while addressing challenges within the prison system.
