PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia, July 11, 2025 – The Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to Chery Malaysia for its RM50,000 donation to the National Sports Trust Fund (KWASN). The contribution, announced during the launch of the Chery Tiggo Cross on July 5, underscores the corporate sector’s ongoing support for the development of Malaysian sports.

Chery Malaysia also pledged to channel a portion of the profits from Chery Tiggo Cross sales to KWASN, aligning with KBS’s efforts to elevate sports under the National Sports Vision 2020. In addition, the company gifted vehicles to Malaysian athletes who won medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics, recognizing their achievements on the global stage.
KBS highlighted that strategic partnerships between the government and private sector are key to boosting national sports performance and honoring athletes who bring pride to Malaysia.
KWASN, a public trust fund, supports national and international sports programs, including athlete participation in global competitions to improve their rankings. Managed by a committee with representatives from the Ministry of Finance, KWASN ensures transparency and accountability in its financial operations.
