Formula 1’s official account confirmed updated driver line-ups for this weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, following Red Bull Racing’s announcement that Isack Hadjar will sit out the event due to a wrist injury.
Liam Lawson steps up from sister team Visa Cash App Racing Bulls to partner Max Verstappen in the Red Bull car. In turn, reserve driver Yuki Tsunoda returns to the grid to race for Racing Bulls alongside rookie Arvid Lindblad.
Hadjar sustained the injury during the summer shutdown and has been ruled out of the Sprint weekend. The Frenchman has impressed in his first season with Red Bull, regularly finishing in the top six in recent races. A team statement confirmed: “Oracle Red Bull Racing driver Isack Hadjar has sustained a wrist injury during the summer shutdown that will prevent him from racing at the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix. We will be welcoming back Liam Lawson who will replace him… The team wishes Isack a speedy recovery.”
Racing Bulls added that Lawson will race for the senior team this weekend, with Tsunoda filling the resulting vacancy next to Lindblad.
The move gives the 24-year-old New Zealander a second chance at Red Bull after a brief and unsuccessful stint alongside Verstappen at the start of the 2025 season, after which he was demoted. Lawson has rebuilt his form strongly in 2026, sitting ninth in the drivers’ championship. Interestingly, his Formula 1 debut also came at Zandvoort in 2023 as a late substitute.
Tsunoda, who previously raced for both Red Bull and its junior team, had been serving as the shared reserve this year after losing a full-time seat. Lindblad, the 19-year-old British-Swedish Red Bull junior in his rookie F1 campaign, retains his place in the second car.
F1 shared a graphic highlighting the revised pairings: Lawson and Verstappen for Red Bull, Lindblad and Tsunoda for Visa Cash App RB. The Dutch Grand Prix, the first race after the summer break, takes place this weekend at Zandvoort.
