KUALA LUMPUR July 12, 2026 — Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, UMNO Vice-President, and Member of Parliament for Titiwangsa, participated in the handover of school uniforms and special per capita grants under the TABIKA KEMAS program in his constituency.
The event, part of the Program Penyerahan Pakaian Seragam dan Geran Perkapita Khas TABIKA KEMAS Parlimen Titiwangsa 2026, took place on Sunday at Dewan Komuniti Taman Maluri. It involved distributing uniforms and grants to children attending TABIKA KEMAS community kindergartens.
A key feature highlighted by Johari is that the uniforms were produced locally by sewing entrepreneurs under KEMAS guidance. These small-scale entrepreneurs received contracts to sew the children’s uniforms, rather than sourcing them from large supplier companies.
“This initiative ensures that children receive their educational necessities, parents benefit, while local entrepreneurs gain job opportunities and income sources,” Johari stated. The program is expected to increase the income of KEMAS entrepreneurs by 30% compared to their current earnings.
“As the people’s representative, I will continue to support and pay attention to educational assistance as well as efforts to empower small entrepreneurs in the Titiwangsa parliamentary area,” he added in his post.
TABIKA KEMAS refers to community kindergartens (Taman Bimbingan Kanak-Kanak) operated by the Department of Community Development (KEMAS). These government-funded preschools provide early childhood education for children aged 4–6, with a focus on rural, remote, and lower-income (B40) communities.
Johari shared the update on his official X account (@joharighani), accompanied by a video of the event showing the handover ceremony, children receiving uniforms and bags, and women from the local community involved in related activities.
The initiative combines support for early education with efforts to boost local economic participation by channeling government contracts to small entrepreneurs.
