SENAI, JOHOR July 9, 2026 – Digital Minister Datuk Gobind Singh Deo on Thursday night thanked supporters who attended a Pakatan Harapan (PH) campaign event for the N52 Senai constituency, urging voters to back incumbent assemblyman Wong Bor Yang in Saturday’s state election.
In a post on X, Deo said attendees had already heard the candidate’s plans for Senai residents if Wong successfully defends his seat.
“Come on, Senai residents — whether nearby or overseas — come out to vote and continue giving us the mandate in this Johor PRN!” he wrote, using the hashtags #JohorKeDepanUndiHARAPAN, #PakatanHarapan, #PRNJohor and #UndiHarapan.
The ceramah drew a visible crowd. Photos from the event showed Deo on stage raising hands with fellow campaigners in front of a large PH banner, warmly interacting with a young supporter in a red party cap, addressing a packed audience at night under festively lit tents, and mingling with supporters afterward.
Wong Bor Yang, a DAP member, has represented Senai since winning the seat in the 2022 state election. He is PH’s candidate seeking re-election in the multi-cornered contest.
The Johor state election on 11 July 2026 will see all 56 seats in the Johor State Legislative Assembly contested. It is the first state poll since 2022 and is widely viewed as a key test for Barisan Nasional (which holds a strong majority), Pakatan Harapan, and other parties ahead of the next general election.
With polling day just two days away, PH candidates including Wong Bor Yang have intensified efforts to reach undecided voters in the final stretch of the campaign.
The Senai rally forms part of PH’s broader push under the slogan “Johor Ke Depan” to retain and expand its representation in the southern state.
