Southeast Asia’s First-Ever LEGO® Play Run Mobilises Thousands in KLCC Park, Pairing Hands-On Creativity with Impactful Mental Health and Physical Wellness CSR Initiatives
Kuala Lumpur, 9 June 2026 – The iconic KLCC precinct was filled with vibrant energy and
creative excitement over the weekend as the highly anticipated Suria KLCC x LEGO® “Play Run
2026” made its historic Southeast Asian debut on Saturday, 6 June. Drawing thousands of
families, fitness enthusiasts, and LEGO® builders of all ages, the active 2km experiential run
served as the high-octane grand finale to the multi-week LEGO® MY Play Festival takeover, which
successfully transformed Suria KLCC and KLCC Park into Malaysia’s largest-ever real-world
LEGO® celebration from 21 May to 7 June 2026.
Organised as a central pillar of Suria KLCC’s signature annual mental and physical wellbeing initiative, the “Play Run 2026” perfectly blended physical fitness, real-world connection,
and interactive storytelling. Participants traversed a custom-designed 2km route around the
scenic KLCC Park, navigating a series of obstacles and physical “play-stops” designed to stimulate
collaboration and cognitive development away from digital screens. Runners were flagged off in
dedicated sessions across the day, concluding their experience by collecting exclusive LEGO®
themed runner kits and a one-of-a-kind, interlocking block-inspired Finisher Medal.

Crowning the evening, the entire celebration culminated in a breathtaking architectural
spectacle as the exterior facade of the iconic Suria KLCC shopping vessel was illuminated by a
custom-curated LEGO® 3D Projection Mapping showcase. The grand visual finale, displayed between 8:00pm and 10:00pm on 6 and 7 June, depicted larger-than-life LEGO® brick-building
animations that celebrated both global play culture and rich Malaysian heritage symbols, drawing
thousands of onlookers to the Esplanade.
Beyond the high-energy physical run, a core hallmark of this year’s festival was its deep corporate
social responsibility (CSR) alignment with community mental health. Anchored adjacent to the
outdoor active zones, Suria KLCC brought back its signature “Safe Space”. From 25 May to 7
June, the dedicated mental health sanctuary hosted an array of educational workshops,
experiential therapeutic activities, and psychological support activations in direct partnership
with the Mental Illness Awareness & Support Association (MIASA), the Malaysian Mental
Health Association (MMHA), NYAWA, The Befrienders KL, IHH Healthcare, and Petrosains.
Francis Tan, Executive Director and CEO of Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd, said: “At Suria KLCC, we have
always aimed to push the boundaries of traditional retail spaces by executing world-class,
purpose-driven experiential events that truly enrich our local community. This landmark
partnership with The LEGO® Group perfectly represents that ambition. By seamlessly blending
LEGO’s philosophy of hands-on discovery with our annual mental and physical health advocacy,
we successfully elevated a school holiday celebration into a deeply impactful force for social
good.”
“The phenomenal turnout for the ‘Play Run 2026’ and the wonderful community reception of our
‘Safe Space’ initiative showcase the public’s desire for real-world connection. By incorporating
physical play, interactive tenant engagements, and vital mental health support under a single
unified campaign, we have successfully created a holistic environment for wellness. Moving
forward, we intend to continue leveraging our platform to foster a deeply empathetic, vibrant,
and resilient community,” he added.
The festival grounds also offered a diverse playground across the precinct. Indoors at the Suria
KLCC Centre Court, visitors explored a stunning local town concept showcasing local culture
through massive brick displays, including a replica of the PETRONAS Twin Towers built with
over 51,000 bricks, a personalised digital LEGO® Minifigure Converter station, and
extraordinary 3D builds of local ‘pasar malam’ food culture.
Outdoors at the Esplanade, in tandem with the build-up to the FIFA World Cup 2026™, the
outdoor arena hosted an interactive LEGO® Football Play Arena featuring an 8-foot inflatable
football, human foosball match stations, and limited-edition displays honouring modern football
legends. Furthermore, families enjoyed curated on-site activations from beloved Suria KLCC
tenants, featuring wellness workshops and refreshing treats courtesy of 8 Oz Coffee, Godiva,
Kiehl’s, F&N, Dotty’s, and Fishbowl.
The success of the Suria KLCC x LEGO® Play Run 2026 was made possible through the
collaboration of venue partner KLCC Holdings Sdn Bhd, alongside Official Healthcare Partner IHH
Healthcare, with critical medical on-site support provided by Gleneagles Hospitals, Pantai
Hospitals, and Prince Court Medical Centre, ensuring a secure and harmonious environment for
all attending families.
