MANAMA, BAHRAIN June 11, 2026 – Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior announced Thursday that an 11-year-old girl sustained minor injuries from falling debris of intercepted Iranian drones, with additional damage reported in Hamad Town and the capital Manama.
According to the official statement, the girl was treated at the scene by emergency responders. Vehicles caught fire and homes were damaged due to debris from the intercepted drones. Civil Defence and National Ambulance teams responded promptly, extinguishing fires and providing necessary assistance.
The incident forms part of ongoing escalations between Iran and the United States, with Iran launching drone and missile attacks targeting US-linked sites in the Gulf region, including Bahrain, which hosts the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet. Bahraini and US officials indicated that air defenses successfully intercepted the incoming threats, preventing direct hits on military targets.
No further casualties have been reported, and authorities are continuing to assess the situation.
This marks the latest in a series of retaliatory exchanges amid heightened tensions in the region, including recent US actions near the Strait of Hormuz. Bahrain has urged calm while emphasizing the protection of its civilians and sovereignty.
