KUALA LUMPUR, May 3, 2026 – Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi spent the afternoon touring the vibrant MARA Education Carnival 2026 at the World Trade Centre (WTC) Kuala Lumpur.
The visit forms part of the ongoing celebrations marking MARA’s 60th anniversary. Dr Zahid, who also holds the portfolios of Minister of Rural and Regional Development and UMNO President, walked through the exhibition halls, stopping at booths run by MARA-linked institutions and partner education providers.
In a post on X, Dr Zahid described the carnival as “really lively”, highlighting the wide range of displays showcasing study opportunities, vocational training programmes, skills development initiatives, and future career pathways for Malaysian youth.
“Various booths from educational institutions under MARA and other education partners participated, showcasing expertise, study opportunities and future pathways for the young people. It is interesting to see how this education ecosystem continues to develop and provide wider choices,” he wrote.
Photographs from the event show Dr Zahid engaging directly with students and staff — taking lively group selfies, interacting with vocational trainees at technical displays, and posing for official photographs in front of the main carnival banner.
The MARA Education Carnival 2026, which opened on 1 May, continues until 5 May 2026. It serves as a one-stop platform for students, parents and school leavers to explore higher education options, scholarships, technical and vocational programmes offered by MARA institutions such as UniKL, GMI, IKM and others.
Members of the public are welcome to visit the carnival daily from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm at the WTC Kuala Lumpur to discover the educational and career opportunities available.
