PUTRAJAYA April 24, 2026 — Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim hosted a courtesy call from Fadhilatus Syeikh Muhammad Al-Hasan Al-Diddu Al-Shanqiti, Vice President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS), at the Prime Minister’s Office yesterday.
The meeting took place as part of the prominent Mauritanian scholar’s official programme during his visit to Malaysia. Accompanied by his delegation, Sheikh Muhammad Al-Hasan engaged in in-depth discussions with the Prime Minister on pressing global challenges.
According to Anwar’s official statement on X (formerly Twitter), the leaders addressed key issues including ongoing wars and oppression, violations of human rights, and threats to national sovereignty across countries.
“Sheikh Muhammad Al-Hasan also noted that Malaysia today is not only caring for its own people, but has become a nation that unites various countries and communities in the spirit of peace,” Anwar posted.
The scholar commended Malaysia’s growing international role as a bridge-builder and unifier of nations and peoples through peace initiatives. He highlighted the country’s efforts in fostering harmony amid global tensions, reinforcing the government’s MADANI policy framework focused on compassion, justice, and inclusive development.
Anwar shared four photographs from the warm and productive meeting, showing him greeting the scholar and delegation in formal discussions at the office.
