KOTA BHARU, April 19, 2026 – A powerful wave of support was palpable at the Mini Konvensyen Keadilan Kelantan 2026, with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim personally praising the strong spirit of PKR’s grassroots members in the state.
Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz, Chairman of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) described the event — held on April 18 at the Grand Riverview Hotel — as “extraordinary” due to the large turnout.
“Mini Konvensyen PKR Kelantan — memang terasa gelombangnya. Kali ni luar biasa. Ramai yang turun, sampai YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Presiden PKR, sendiri puji semangat akar umbi di Kelantan,” he posted on X yesterday.
Tengku Zafrul, who addressed the convention, took the opportunity to highlight the achievements of the MADANI Government in supporting Malaysians, with a special focus on economic assistance and welfare programmes for the Malay community.
“The strong attendance sends a clear message: the grassroots want us to keep working, not just talking. Insya-Allah we will continue — carrying the voice of the people and strengthening our efforts moving forward,” he added.
The convention is viewed as a significant show of strength for PKR in Kelantan, a state traditionally dominated by the opposition. Tengku Zafrul, who joined PKR in 2025, has been actively involved in bolstering the party’s machinery and outreach.
The event underscores PKR’s continued push to expand its base in the east coast as the MADANI administration emphasises delivery to the rakyat.
