TEHRAN March 30, 2026 – Amid the ongoing US-Israel-Iran conflict, Iran’s top diplomat has extended an olive branch to Riyadh while directly challenging Washington’s military presence in the Gulf.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on March 30, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi stated: “Iran respects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and considers it a brotherly nation. Our operations are aimed at enemy aggressors who have no respect for Arabs or Iranians, nor can provide any security. Just look at what we did to their aerial command. High time to eject U.S. forces.”
The remarks come days after Iranian forces launched missile and drone strikes on US assets at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, damaging American aircraft — including E-3 AWACS surveillance planes — and injuring US personnel. Araghchi’s message appears designed to separate Saudi Arabia from its long-standing security partnership with the United States, framing Tehran’s attacks as aimed solely at “enemy aggressors” rather than Arab nations.
BRICS News amplified the statement alongside portraits of Araghchi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as well as images of damaged US military equipment at the base.
This latest diplomatic overture reflects Tehran’s broader strategy to build ties with Gulf Arab states while isolating American forces in the region. The Iran-US conflict, now in its second month, has seen repeated Iranian strikes on Israeli and US targets, alongside coalition retaliatory operations against Iranian military sites.
Saudi Arabia has not issued an immediate official response to Araghchi’s comments.
The development underscores the shifting alliances and high-stakes maneuvering in the Middle East as the conflict continues. Life News Agency will monitor for any reaction from Riyadh or Washington.
