KUALA LUMPUR, 4 March 2026 – Danesh Raj Nagarajan has been appointed Director of Corporate Strategic & Media Communication at the Maju Institute of Education Development (MIED), where he will oversee strategic communications and stakeholder engagement initiatives for the organisation.
MIED is an educational foundation dedicated to supporting Malaysian students through scholarships, financial assistance, and academic development programmes. In his new role, Danesh Raj will work on strengthening the institute’s communication strategies, enhancing its engagement with stakeholders, and supporting initiatives that broaden educational opportunities for Malaysian students.
Danesh Raj previously served as a member of the Board of the University of Malaya from 2021 to 2023, an experience that provided him with early exposure to institutional governance and higher education policy. His time on the board allowed him to contribute to discussions on university development while gaining valuable insight into the strategic direction of one of the country’s leading public universities.

At MIED, he is expected to bring that experience into a more operational role, helping to align communications, partnerships, and outreach efforts with the institute’s long-term educational mission.
MIED operates under the chairmanship of Tan Sri S. A. Vigneswaran, who has been leading efforts to strengthen the organisation and its related educational institutions, including AIMST University and TAFE College. Recent developments within the organisation reflect a continued focus on strengthening governance, expanding educational opportunities, and encouraging the participation of younger professionals in institutional leadership.
Danesh Raj’s appointment reflects a growing recognition of the role younger leaders can play in shaping the future of educational organisations, while building on the experience gained through earlier public and institutional service.
