RIYADH February 28, 2026 – His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, received a telephone call from United States President Donald J. Trump on Saturday.
During the conversation, President Trump strongly condemned the “blatant missile attacks” launched against Saudi Arabia, which were successfully intercepted and countered by the Kingdom’s air defense systems.
According to an official statement released by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Trump expressed the United States’ full support for Saudi Arabia and backed all measures taken by the Kingdom to confront these Iranian violations that undermine regional security and stability.
The call follows Iranian retaliatory missile strikes on Saturday that targeted Riyadh and the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, as well as several other Gulf states hosting US military facilities, including the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait. Saudi authorities confirmed the projectiles were intercepted with no reported damage or casualties on Saudi soil.
Saudi Arabia has vehemently denounced the Iranian actions, describing them as unjustifiable and a direct threat to the sovereignty of the Kingdom and the wider region.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared the announcement via its official English-language account on X (@KSAmofaEN), accompanied by an official graphic featuring portraits of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and President Trump.
This high-level diplomatic engagement highlights the enduring strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and the United States amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
