DOHA, QATAR February 28, 2026 — The Malaysian Embassy in Doha has issued a formal notice today urging Malaysian nationals in Qatar to stay vigilant and rely exclusively on official information sources following the joint US-Israel military strikes on Iran and subsequent regional developments.
The advisory, titled “Notis Kepada Rakyat Malaysia di Qatar” and dated 28 Februari 2026, states: “Following the latest chain of developments in the region, Malaysian citizens in Qatar are advised to continuously monitor the situation and obtain information only from authentic sources, including official announcements by Qatari authorities and the Malaysian Embassy.”
It explicitly warns against spreading unverified or unconfirmed information that could create unnecessary panic.
The notice comes hours after US President Donald Trump announced major strikes on Iranian targets, with explosions reported in Tehran and other cities. Iran has retaliated by launching missiles toward Israeli territory and US military bases in the region, including the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar — the largest US facility in the Middle East. Qatari authorities have confirmed the situation inside the country remains stable, with air defences successfully intercepting incoming threats and no damage or injuries reported on Qatari soil.

Malaysians planning travel to or already in Qatar are reminded to monitor official channels closely and avoid sharing unverified content on social media during this period of heightened regional tension.
