PUTRAJAYA, MALAYSIA Februariy 27, 2026 — Malaysia’s Border Control and Protection Agency (Agensi Kawalan dan Perlindungan Sempadan Malaysia – AKPS) has issued an official warning that a widely circulated video and the TikTok account @HailyOnlyOfficial are fraudulent and have no connection to its Director General.
In a media statement released today, AKPS confirmed that the account does not belong to the agency’s top official and that the video was manipulated using deepfake technology to create the false impression of an official announcement.
The agency also revealed that several other unauthorised social media accounts are impersonating the Director General by using his name, likeness and video footage for personal publicity and financial gain.
“AKPS will take firm action against any individual or party found misusing the name, image and identity of the Director General on social media,” the statement read. “Legal proceedings will be initiated without compromise.”
The public has been urged to remain vigilant against fake content and to rely exclusively on AKPS’s official communication channels for accurate information.
The statement, issued by the agency’s Corporate Communications Unit under the Ministry of Home Affairs, ends with a clear call: “Do not be easily deceived by false content. Always refer to official AKPS sources for verified information.”
This is the latest in a series of warnings by Malaysian government agencies against the rising use of deepfake technology and impersonation on social media platforms.
