KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA February 12, 2026 – Seputeh Member of Parliament Teresa Kok Suh Sim today issued an official media statement in response to the latest remarks by Datuk Jamal Yunos, who repeated old allegations and called for “matters involving her name” to be “reopened”.
In the statement dated 11 February 2026, Teresa Kok said she has long exercised patience by choosing not to respond to every provocation or irresponsible remark, as she believes Malaysians gain nothing from endless political attacks or attempts to manufacture controversy for personal attention.
Her focus, she stressed, has always been on serving the people, strengthening harmony, and ensuring political discourse remains responsible, civil, and grounded in truth.
However, she expressed deep concern that the matter has now gone beyond ordinary political commentary or criticism.
What is particularly regrettable, she said, is the crude and immoral manner in which Datuk Jamal continues to act, including his attempts to mock and belittle the amount ordered by the court. Turning compliance with a court order into sarcasm, she added, is not only insulting but reflects a lack of respect for basic decency and the judicial process.
“This is not legitimate criticism. It is deliberate provocation and a personal attack delivered through demeaning and irresponsible language,” she stated.
More importantly, a High Court injunction remains in force. Repeating or republishing defamatory statements that violate the court order is a serious matter. Court orders cannot be disregarded, and no one is above the law.
Teresa Kok said she deeply regrets that Datuk Jamal continues to provoke and persist with remarks that can only create tension, foster disharmony, and undermine the rule of law.
She sincerely hopes he will reflect, cease the defamatory sarcasm, and act responsibly in future.
However, should the defamatory statements continue, or should there be any further breach of the High Court injunction, she will have no choice but to instruct her lawyers to take appropriate legal action, including contempt of court proceedings, to uphold the authority of the court and protect her reputation and integrity.
“This is not a step I take lightly, but it may become unavoidable if this irresponsible conduct persists,” she warned.
Teresa Kok’s full statement has been circulated through her official media channels. As of now, there has been no official response from Datuk Jamal Yunos to this latest statement.
