HULU LANGAT, SELANGOR, MALAYSIA February 8, 2026 – Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, Malaysia’s Minister of Health, today officiated the Wellness Hub in Hulu Langat, reinforcing the Malaysia MADANI agenda’s emphasis on health as the foundation of national prosperity.
The launch aligns with the Ministry of Health’s (KKM) ongoing expansion of community-based wellness facilities. This year, five new Wellness Hubs have begun operations, bringing the nationwide total to 38. The new facilities are located in Kuala Selangor, Muar (Johor), Sibuti (Miri), Muallim (Perak), and Sandakan (Sabah).
Since their introduction, Wellness Hubs have provided health and wellness services to over 2 million Malaysians. Notably, of the more than 19,000 participants in weight management programmes, 75% successfully reduced their body weight, while 76% showed improved physical fitness levels — demonstrating the effectiveness of the holistic approach.
The Minister highlighted that KKM is developing a dedicated Elderly Package under the KKM Strategic Plan 2026–2030 to support healthy ageing. He also proposed that Wellness Hubs serve as a model for grassroots health reform, focusing on early prevention and behavioural insights to build healthier communities.
Also present at the ceremony were Puan Jamaliah Jamaluddin (Selangor State Exco for Public Health and Environment), Tuan Mohd Sany Hamzan (Hulu Langat Member of Parliament), Dato’ Sri Zahrul Hakim Abdullah (KKM Deputy Secretary-General for Finance), and Dr Ismuni Bohari (KKM Deputy Director-General for Public Health).
