PUTRAJAYA. MALAYSIA Oct. 18, 2025 – Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim received the latest developments on the Gaza Peace Plan during a phone conversation with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi yesterday afternoon.
According to a statement from Anwar issued last night, El-Sisi informed that the primary focus is now on efforts to identify and retrieve the bodies of Israeli hostages from Gaza. This step aims to ensure that the Zionist regime has no excuse to delay or derail the ongoing peace process.
He also discussed the implementation of the plan’s second phase, including the reconstruction of Gaza, the need to protect the West Bank, and the execution of a United Nations (UN) resolution to establish an International Stabilization Force (ISF).

During the conversation, El-Sisi extended a formal invitation to Anwar to attend the Gaza Reconstruction Conference to be held in Egypt. The conference is seen as a vital platform to strengthen international support for the recovery efforts in the devastated Gaza region.
El-Sisi also expressed hope that U.S. President Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to Malaysia next week will yield positive outcomes, given Trump’s critical role in guaranteeing lasting security in Gaza.
Both leaders agreed to continue upholding security, strengthening the humanitarian agenda, and coordinating the implementation of aid missions to alleviate the prolonged suffering of the Palestinian people.
Anwar’s statement underscores Malaysia’s commitment to a peaceful resolution of the Gaza crisis, in line with the country’s diplomatic stance emphasizing Palestinian rights and regional stability.
