PUTRAJAYA, Sept 23, 2025 – In line with Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s announcement of the BUDI95 initiative, the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN), through the National Registration Department (JPN), has launched a free MyKad chip replacement program. Starting today, September 23, and running until October 7, 2025, the service will be available at all JPN counters and offices nationwide.

Between January and August 2025, JPN received 294,715 applications for MyKad replacements under the damaged chip/card category, with a notable surge reported in the last three months4.
This initiative, aimed at ensuring citizens can fully benefit from the BUDI95 subsidy without technical hiccups, is expected to cost RM714,660.00, fully borne by the MADANI Government.
The MADANI Government remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding public welfare, according to a statement from the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN). This program reflects ongoing efforts to support citizens amid rising demands for updated identification services.
