GUA MUSANG, Malaysia. Sept 1, 2025 — In a groundbreaking milestone, 16-year-old Muhammad Izzudin Hasmadi, a Temiar youth from Pos Balar, Gua Musang, has become the first Orang Asli to complete the memorization of the entire 30 juzuk of the Quran under the Ulul Albab program. His remarkable achievement earned him the prestigious Ibnu Qayyim Award.

Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi expressed immense pride in Izzudin’s accomplishment, describing it as an inspiration for Orang Asli youth and all Malaysians striving for excellence in both worldly and spiritual pursuits.
“I am incredibly proud of Izzudin’s success, which I believe will ignite inspiration among Orang Asli children and the wider Malaysian youth to persevere in achieving excellence,” Ahmad Zahid said in a statement.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening tahfiz education to produce more Quran-literate generations, expressing hope that Izzudin’s achievement would motivate others to follow in his footsteps.
“Congratulations to Izzudin! May he remain steadfast and continue to be a blessing to the ummah,” Ahmad Zahid added.
