PUTRAJAYA, MALAYSIA January 16, 2026 – A total of 3.1 million recipients under the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) Single Category have started receiving cash assistance through the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) mechanism beginning today.
This government initiative is aimed at assisting the B40 group, the hardcore poor, the poor, and moderate-income individuals, particularly single youth affected by economic challenges and the rising cost of living.
According to the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), the STR Single Category is cash aid designed to ease financial burdens and help recipients meet their daily basic needs. The ministry believes this assistance is highly meaningful for youth who are building their careers, are self-employed, or have low incomes.
KBS also advises recipients to manage the aid wisely by prioritising essential needs, avoiding wastage, and taking advantage of opportunities to enhance their skills and employability.
“KBS remains committed to supporting the welfare and development of youth in line with the Malaysia MADANI aspirations,” the statement said.
