RIYADH Dec 14, 2025 – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that occurred at Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach on December 14, resulting in the deaths of at least 12 people and injuries to dozens more.
In an official statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on December 14, Saudi Arabia expressed its unequivocal denunciation of the violence, which targeted a Jewish community gathering marking the first night of Hanukkah.
The attack, described by Australian authorities as a targeted antisemitic terrorist incident, unfolded during the “Chanukah by the Sea” event organized by the local Chabad community. Two gunmen opened fire on the crowd, killing 12 (including one attacker shot by police) and hospitalizing around 29 others, including two officers.
Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its firm stance against all forms of violence, terrorism, and extremism, extending sincere condolences to the victims’ families, the Australian government, and its people, while wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
The statement aligns with broader international condemnation, including from leaders in the US, UK, France, and Israel, who labeled the shooting a hate-driven assault on the Jewish community.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called it an “act of evil antisemitism,” vowing unity against division and hatred. Investigations continue, with one suspect identified and security agencies probing potential motives.
