KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA January 12, 2026 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, visited three schools in the Sungai Besi area this morning to monitor the rollout of the Bantuan Awal Persekolahan (Early School Assistance) program. The initiative aims to alleviate financial burdens on parents as they prepare their children for the new school year.
In a post on his official X account (formerly Twitter), Anwar shared details of the visits to Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sungai Besi, Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Kwong Hon, and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil (SJKT) Sungai Besi. He highlighted interactions with young students embarking on their educational journeys, noting the excitement visible on their faces.
“Seeing their enthusiasm reminds us that every child carries not only the high hopes of their parents but also the trust of their teachers and the grand aspirations for our nation’s future,” Anwar stated in the post. He emphasized that schools serve as foundational spaces for building character, discipline, and national identity, beyond just imparting knowledge.
Reaffirming education as a national priority, the Prime Minister stressed the need for strong collaboration among the government, parents, and educators to ensure the system’s success. “It’s not just about policies and funding—close partnerships are essential to provide children with holistic support at school and home,” he added.
Anwar expressed confidence that a quality education system rooted in values and humanity will foster a generation that is knowledgeable, ethical, and resilient in facing future challenges.
The post, which included photos from the visits showing Anwar engaging with students and school staff, garnered positive engagement online, aligning with the government’s #MalaysiaMADANI agenda focused on progressive and inclusive development.
