KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA February 11, 2026 — Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim today described the Budi Madani RON95 (BUDI95) targeted fuel subsidy programme as a “proud success story” for Malaysia, highlighting its smooth and effective rollout.
In a statement shared during Minister’s Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat and later posted on X, Anwar revealed that the programme has recorded up to 3.1 million transactions in a single day — all processed without significant disruptions.
He emphasised the achievement’s significance, noting that few countries dare to implement targeted subsidies due to the political and public acceptance risks involved.
Anwar also praised Malaysians for their active role in combating RON95 smuggling syndicates to neighbouring countries, stating that public vigilance has helped curb subsidy leakages and reflects strong national spirit and identity.
The MADANI Government continues to position the programme as a key reform in rationalising subsidies while protecting eligible citizens.
